My latest necklace was difficult to photograph without a model, but here goes... The necklace is such that it can be worn in many different ways, wrapped one, two, or three times around the neck. I have linked white, black, and silver-colored beads and pearls. This necklace will really add some attitude to an otherwise strict and dull outfit!
This weekend I have been behind my camera quite a few hours. I really, really wanted to get better at taking pictures of jewelry indoors. After having tried some 50 different camera settings, I know which ones work the best given the lighting conditions in my "studio" (i.e. our guest bedroom). I want to be able to take creative photos. The picture above is one that I am particularly pleased with. Will post more photos when I have processed them and selected the best ones!
Here is a picture of the photo studio I set up. The dresser is rather high, and I'm sort of short, so I have to stand on a chair in order to get the right angle.
The best of my latest necklaces. All five of them are worn rather tight against the neck, with a focal piece hanging down the middle. This is my favorite style at the moment. It is very easy to wear with any garment that is v-necked.
Taking these pictures, I spent some time testing different settings on my camera. Finally I achieved quite good lighting indoors. During this shoot I used a very shallow focal depth, it looks pretty cool but it makes it difficut to really see what the jewelry pieces look like.
Made this wire pendant with white freshwater pearls as a custom order for a co-worker. She liked some earrings that I hade made, and asked me to do a pendant in the same style.
It's been a while since I really sat down to make new jewelry, and I haven't really gotten around to taking photos of the last pieces that I made. I have other creative projects going on around the house these days, mainly decorating and gardening. Currently I am in the process of painting old pieces of furniture. After that, painting walls and sewing curtains is on the schedule. I want the house to look really nice for Christmas!
I'm busy these days selling my apartment and moving to a house, but today I had the opportunity to play around with a really awesome camera (borrowed, but we're getting one just like it!), and obviously I took pictures of some jewelry. It has been a sunny day, so I took the pictures outdoors. No need for a tripod or a lamp, however the shadows turn out very sharp. Here is a picture of a white necklace and matching earrings that I made last week. The necklace consists of white freshwater pearls, clear glass chips, and tiny white pearly rocaille beads. The earrings are very simple and elegant with clear glass chips.
Hey! Given up on me yet? I haven't quit beading, just haven't taken a lot of pictures lately. I make jewelry and then I wear it, or give it away. However, I am currently trying to put together a "collection" that I hope will be approved for a market in Stockholm (Street) where I want to have a go at selling my stuff. It's not a flea market so you need to get your goods approved before you can apply for a table.
Here is a necklace, with green and turuoise glass beads. I've been busy with the camera so more pictures will be posted in the next few days.
